Welcome to another post for #ManeMondayz🙆♀️💁♀️💇♀️💆♀️
If you look to the right of this page, you will see a washngo picture. In this picture, my hair looks really good, doesn’t it? Ever since I took that picture almost a year ago, I have not been able to get a wash and go like that again.😪
I decided to try on February 10, 2018, to get that hairstyle again, and it failed 😪
Oil Mixture 🥥
Shea Butter 🍚 (pretend this is shea butter)
Conditioner 🍶 (pretend this is conditioner)
Eco Styler Gel Argan Oil 🥫 (pretend this is conditioner)
What I Did:
Water (Liquid), Oil (Oil) and Shea Butter (Cream) were the products I used to moisturise each section. I sub-sectioned my hair the way I would when I would do a twist-out. Then, I applied the gel using the praying hands methods. Then, I shingled each strand that I got from this suggested video. I started using the conditioner when my shea butter finished (lol). I chose conditioner because whenever I apply conditioner to my hair my curls pop so I thought it would be the perfect product. My hair had the white cream which indicated to you that the products don’t mix well, however, it dried without any flakes. But the hairstyle still failed. There was too much volume, the curls were barely defined, hair shrunk greatly, and my heat damage was more so prominent more than ever. I’ve always wanted to wear my hair in a wash and go like the girls on youtube and to keep on failing is really annoying. (But that’s life eh)
I had school on Monday and I was not going to go with a failed wash and go, it failing was enough stress already. I decided to do a twist out which is my go-to hairstyle. I sub-sectioned the hair as how I would twist out. Then, I spritz each section and started twisting. When the water touched my hair, it reactivated the wash moisture from the LOC method and conditioner, and the gel so my hair was moisturised and curly. Hence, I just twisted and removed the extra product. Then, by the end of an hour, I had 26 twists in my hair. I gave it two days to dry so I went to school looking “pop dung” 😪. But my failed washngo turned twist-out was okay. After day 4 my hair started to feel dry which was because of the gel. I usually use natural gel, which keeps my hair defined and moisturised for 7 – 8 days.
Why I think my Wash N Go Failed:
– My hair isn’t healthy so the curls aren’t popping as it would. In the picture on the right, my hair was really healthy in Trinidad because I was eating right, and drinking my water. Currently, my eating habit is not so great.
– The product combination was really bad. The Argan Eco Styler gel isn’t for me. However, I have a big tub of it so I’m gonna finish it or give half to Ashleigh (my bomb).
If you guys have any suggestions, for example, a product combination or a tool that will help me, I would really appreciate it. One of my hair goals this year is to achieve a GOOD LOOKING BOMB ASS Wash and go.
